Create your own Christmas display

Start by selecting a container for your arrangement, whether it's a decorative bowl, an old pot, or even a charming coffee cup from a thrift store. You'll need soil, seasonal plants, and green moss to cover the soil for a polished look. Finally, add festive decorations like pine cones, Christmas ornaments, cinnamon sticks, or any other holiday embellishments to complete the design.

Begin by adding a few centimeters of soil to the bottom of the pot to create a stable foundation for the plants, ensuring they are securely anchored.

In this Christmas arrangement, we’ve chosen poinsettia, ivy, kalanchoe (flaming Katy), chives, and fir. Feel free to mix and match plants with varying shapes—one tall, one shorter, and one that cascades for a balanced look. Consider where the arrangement will be displayed and from which direction it will be viewed, as this will help guide the placement of the plants. Decide if it will have a clear front and back, or if it will be a centerpiece, visible from all angles.

Once you're happy with the plant arrangement, fill in the gaps with soil to ensure the roots are well-covered and the plants are secure. Then, cover the entire surface with green moss, making sure to spread it evenly for a polished and attractive look. A thorough moss covering will enhance the overall appearance of your Christmas arrangement.

Complete your arrangement by adding Christmas baubles or other festive decorations for the perfect finishing touch. Be creative with your choices, but aim for balance—arrange the decorations thoughtfully to avoid a cluttered look while maintaining harmony throughout the display.
